CLUB ACTIVITIES & CLUB MEETINGS

The Victoria Photography Club

meets the 3rd Thursday of each

month from 7 PM to 9 PM. The

meetings is held at the Grace

Funeral Home’s Private Reception

Building (directly behind the main

Chapel), 2401Houston Highway,

Victoria, Texas. Everyone from

beginner to professional is

MONTHLY DIGITAL

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

A photography competition is held

at the Club’s monthly meetings. 

These competition entries are

digital except for a print

competition held each June.

Members may enter monthly in 4

categories:

(1) Nature

(2) Open

(3) Rotating - a different

subject each month taken

from the categories used

for the Annual Contest.

(4) Assignment - a one-word

descriptor of the subject for

the month. Members use

their imagination to

interpret the subject with a

photograph.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

In addition to the Monthly Digital

Photography Contest, an

Educational Program is presented

by one of the Club’s members or by

an invited Speaker. The topics will

include such photography topics as

light painting, macro photography,

night photography, portrait lighting

and post processing techniques.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops will be offered on a

weekend following an Educational

Program. The presenter will

organize the workshop and be the

OUTINGS

Members occasionally

photograph community events

together. Two of the events are the

Family Expo and Bootfest.

Members sometime travel together

to locations where there is a

possibility of getting some great

ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHY

CONTEST

Victoria Photography Club holds its

Annual Contest and Exhibition in August

of each year. The deadline for the

contest is the last day of July. The

contest is open to all

photographers – beginners to

professionals. Judging is done by

three qualified photographers.

After judging, entries are displayed

for two weeks at the Victoria Mall.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Members try their hand at Event

Photography by photographing

sanctioned Community Events.

Some of the eventsinclude the

Family Expo, Bootfest and

Warrior’s Weekend. They also

engage in projects with Coleto

Creek Reservoir & Park that helps

to promotes conservation and to

create some good photo
